Who we are
Hawaii Handyman LLC (“Hawaiʻi Handyman,” “we,” “us”) is a local handyman company serving Maui, Oʻahu, Kauaʻi and the Big Island. This policy covers hawaiihandy.com and our island sites: themauihandyman.com, oahuhandyman.com, thekauaihandyman.com and thehawaiihandyman.com (which forwards to hawaiihandy.com/big-island).

The short version
- We only collect what you type into our forms, plus the basic technical logs every website host keeps.
- We use it to reply to you, schedule work and give you a quote.
- We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use advertising or analytics trackers.
What you send us through our forms
Quote request form (on most pages of our sites):

- “What needs doing?”, your description of the job (required)

Our forms don’t take photos or file uploads. Each form also sends a hidden note of which site it came from, and a hidden blank field that helps us block spam.
How forms are handled
Form submissions are processed and stored by our website hosting and form provider. Our form provider may also record technical details with a submission, such as your IP address and browser type, and screens submissions for spam. A copy of each submission is emailed to our business inboxes, which run on Google Workspace.
We use what you send only to respond to you, schedule work and prepare your quote. We don’t add you to a mailing list and we don’t sell your personal information.
Reviews are shown publicly
Every review is read by our team before it goes on the site. If we publish your review, it shows your name as you entered it, your island and town, your star rating, the job type and your review. Your email address is never shown.
Hosting, cookies and analytics
Like any website, our hosting provider may log your IP address, browser and device information and the pages you request, to keep the sites secure and running.
Our public pages don’t set cookies and don’t use Google Analytics, other analytics services, advertising pixels or other tracking scripts. Our fonts and images are served from our own site, not from outside services.
The editing area of our sites (/admin) is for our staff only. Staff sign in there with a secure staff login.
Our KITV video
The Island News (KITV) video on our sites is embedded in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). It’s click to play: until you press play you only see a picture stored on our own site, and nothing loads from YouTube. Once you press play, the video loads from YouTube and Google’s Privacy Policy applies.
Links to Facebook, Instagram, Yelp and YouTube open those sites, and their own privacy policies apply there.
Signing in with Google
We’re building a Hawaiʻi Handyman app for our staff and customers. It may let you sign in with your Google account. When you do, we receive only basic profile information: your name, email address and profile picture. We use it only to identify your account and sign you in.
We don’t access your Gmail, Google Drive or any other Google data unless the app clearly asks for it and you agree.
Hawaii Handyman LLC’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We don’t sell Google user data and we don’t use it for advertising. You can remove the app’s access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Who we share information with
We share your information only with the service providers that run our sites and email:
- Our website hosting and form provider, which hosts our sites and handles our forms
- Google Workspace, which runs our business email
We may also share information when the law requires it. We don’t sell, rent or trade personal information.
How long we keep it
We keep form submissions and emails only as long as we need them to answer you, do the work and keep normal business records, and then we delete them. Published reviews stay on the site until you ask us to take them down or we remove them.
Keeping it safe
Our sites use HTTPS, so what you send is encrypted on the way to us. Only our team can get to form submissions held by our form provider and our inboxes, and we use the security features of our website host and Google Workspace to protect our accounts. No system is perfectly secure, but we take care with your information. If a security breach ever exposed your personal information, we would let you know as Hawaiʻi law requires.
Children
Our sites and app are not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Your choices and your Hawaiʻi privacy rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- Tell you what personal information we have about you
- Correct it
- Delete it, including taking down your review
Just call (808) 556-4349 or email admin@hawaiihandy.com. We may ask a question or two to make sure the request is really from you. If Hawaiʻi law gives you other rights over your personal information, we’ll honor them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version on this page and update the effective date below.
